Ondevilla holds a Master of Arts in Letters, Master of Arts in Education, major in Curriculum and Instruction, a Bachelor of Arts in LIterature degrees - all from Far Eastern University, Manila. He also earned units for an M.A. in Creative Writing from UP Diliman. He is Assistant Professor II at Far Eastern University and has been teaching literature and creative writing for more than ten years. Violeta L. Jerusalem holds a Doctor of Education, major in Educational Management and Master of Business Administration degrees. She is currently the chairman of GEMSCOR, an international education solutions provider and a visiting graduate professor at Holy Angel University. Dr. Jerusalem is an International Education Specialist, Administrator, Classroom Teacher and Textbook and Module Writer. Marjueve M. Palencia holds a Doctor of Education, major in Educational Administration (ADB) and a Master of Arts in Education major in Curriculum and Instruction (with highest distinction) degrees - both from Far Eastern University, Manila. He also holds a Bachelor of Classical Liberal Arts, major in Philosophy (with honors), and earned units for a Master of Arts in Philosophy at the Ateneo de Manila University. He is Associate Professor II and taught Literature, Philosophy and Humanities for over 20 years at Far Eastern University. Jonas M. Palencia holds a Master of Liberal Arts, major in Information Technology Management at Harvard University, Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering degree at Mapua Institute of Technology, Manila Philippines. He taught Data Communications at University of Asia and the Pacific in Pasig City and Computer Programming and Statistics at Mapua Institute of Technology. Jonas Palencia is currently working as an Information Technology consultant to Fortune 500 companies in the United States, including telecommunicatiobs, biotechnology, pharmaceutical and internet companies. Summary: "This book aims to engage students in the appreciation and critical study of 21st Century Literature from the Philippines and the world encompassing their various dimensions, genres, elements, structures, contexts and traditions. Chapters 1 to 5 are literary texts from the Philippines and the representative writings from the different regions of the country and from the National Artists for Literature. Chapter 6 to 11 are representative texts from the different continents of the world originally written in the 21st century. 21st Century literatures are literary works written and published at the latter part of the 21st century (from 2001 onwards). These works are often characterized as gender sensitive, technologically alluding, culturally pluralistic, operates on the extreme reality or extreme fiction, and questions conventions and supposedly absolute norms. --
