Probability 1 -- Random Variable 49 -- Normal Distribution 85 -- Estimation 113 -- Testing of Hypothesis 127 -- Linear Progression 145 About the Authors 165
Summary: "This book provides principal concepts on the foundation for research design and illustrates the application of widely-used statistical tools in hypothesis testing and estimation. Discussions include analysis of data using graphical techniques and numerical summaries, inferences from data and develop appropriate questions for further inquiries and interpreting the soundness of the conclusions. The book covers topics in inferential statistics as well as principles of counting, permutation, and combination; principles of probability, covering additive rules, conditional probability, multiplicative rules, and Baye's rule; concepts of random variable and mathematical expectation; discrete probability distributions; normal distribution. Every lesson starts with a motivation either by a pre-test or a group of dynamics that would stimulate the minds of the students to the succeeding lessons. The Objectives of each lesson is also enumerated for both the teacher and the students to be directed on what to expect at the end of each lesson. Lessons are presented in an illustrative manner so as to show the significant parts of the calculation and narratives at the end of each computation is provided so as to provide interpretation of the results. Similar activities are provided for the students to enhance their computational skills as well as critical thinking for the interpretation of results. Summary, as well as summative test at the end of each lesson, is also provided test the full understanding whether the outcome is achieved."--
