"This book deals with the Physical Sciences: mainly Astronomy and Physics. Chapters 1, 2, and 3 discusses the general principles and theories of the Universe and its formation by nucleosynthesis. It includes the quantitative relationships, kinetics and medical application of nuclear transformations. Chapter 5 deals with Thermodynamics: the possibility of a process being spontaneous or not. This requires a short introduction to concepts of enthalpy and entropy. Chapter 6 considers the different factors that affect rates of reaction and other processes as well. Chapters 7 and 8 consider the molecules of "life" and the environment. Chapters 9 to 12 discuss topics in Physics - the laws of Kepler and Newton, force and motion, wanes and light. Chapter 13 is a recap of astronomy - the use of the telescope, components of the solar system, and the demotion of Plutto as a major planet.
